HI FAMILY!!!! <3
How are you all??? Things are going AMAZING here in Malaysia, PJ branch! I absolutely LOVE it here! This week has been the BEST! We had an AWESOME dinner with the YSA on Monday night! They are the best! We had Sting Ray, Fish, rice, and yummy different pancakes and stuff! It was so good! Tuesday we met with R, a girl from Utah who is doing an internship here in Malaysia! She went home on Thursday, so we invited her to come to a lesson with us! The lesson ended up cancelling :( but it was really cool to talk with R. about what missions mean to us and how we really walk with the Savior for this year and a half! And how much we have grown, and are being prepared for our future! It was such a spiritually uplifting conversation! Things all work out for a reason! :) We had a lesson with our investigator N! FINALLY I got to meet her!!!! <3 she is from the Philippines, and we talked to her about the Plan of Salvation! She is the SWEETEST person I have ever met!!! I love her so much! She just really opened up to us and it was amazing to see how even though the language barrier is big between us, she still felt the spirit so strongly!
Later in the evening we met with the H. family! They are the BEST! And they were just living in Sacramento actually! So cool! They were so nice to us! We shared a message about having a Christ centered home and read a scripture from 2 Nephi 25:26, it's been nice to get to know the Branch members! It was really weird because I ate with a fork and knife (instead of a fork and spoon) and they lived in a really nice apartment! They are an amazing family! We have been visiting more of the families in our branch, to try and get to know them! It's been amazing to feel more unity as we have tried to bring them cookies and just spend time getting to know them and inviting them to work with us! M&M's (members + missionaries = MIRACLES) As we were doing our weekly planning , Sister Hillier and I decided that we needed to spend more time with the LA in our Branch! SO! We called up a few and one sister in particular stood out to us, so we gave her a call! She said sisters can I meet you tonight for dinner?? So we met with her. She really opened up to us and said that she felt like not going to church and didn't want to go less active, and asked for our help! It was one of the most amazing experiences on my mission! The faith that this sister had was amazing! She knew that God would help her if she just Asked... "Ask and ye shall receive." We are going to be meeting with her and helping her to come to church! She is an amazing sister!
On Saturday we went to lunch (Korean BBQ, SO NICE) with a RC M. L. she is the sweetest! And we taught A! With her Husband KL! It was sooooo cool! He is Buddhist so his background on Jesus Christ was not a lot, so it was a bit of a struggle trying to teach them both, but the spirit was there and he came to church again! They are just booming with their progression! I’m sooo excited for them! We talked about temples, and they said they are coming to the USA next May and want to see the temple! I was like ummm! I’ll meet you there! hahah :) it was amazing!
We had a HUGE MIRACLE happen yesterday!!! It was soooo amazing! We had investigators who were in need! They hadn't eaten for 2 days, and had no money! They couldn't even make it to church, so we went to visit them afterward! They had really heart breaking circumstances and absolutely nothing! But! They had so much faith in their savior Jesus Christ. It amazed me how strong they are! We testified to them that God was aware of them, and he loved them so much! What amazed me was when they testified to us that they knew God was aware of them and he was blessing them! After we left, we called our Relief Society President to see if she could help us with this situation. She told us to come to her house and she was going to give us some food to take to her. We show up at this sister’s home and she has at least 10 bags of groceries for our investigators. We pile it up with Elder Egbert and Holmes, and when we entered into the home of our investigators they were overcome with tears of joy and gratitude. And I just couldn't help but cry myself at seeing Gods hand so powerfully in this family’s life! They were so touched; and we are so grateful for an AMAZING branch and such prepared investigators! Miracles happen all the time! :)
I can't even tell
you how CRAZY this week has been! We have been running around like MAD MEN!
But! We have been working really hard and seeing so many miracles!!! This
really is the Work of our Savior! We walk with him always.... as I was studying
today I read about Christ telling the 5,000 that he was the "bread of
life" …I testify that that is true! Whoever comes unto him shall never
hunger! or thirst! If we make him our focus and have faith in him, we will be
able to one day return to him... and one day become like him! I love you so
much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep on keeping on!!!!!!
Love
Eternally
